This art features a technique Tammy developed called "Slip Carving". The colors you see are achieved by painting on thin layers of colored clay (called slip) over a carved tile or sculpture surface. The piece is then fired and sanded to reveal the colors and image underneath. A clear glaze finishes these pieces. |
